Women Who Draw Winter 2026
From Juror Clare Burson:
I want to thank Lindsey Frances Jones of Mari Art Collective for inviting me to jury this show. There were so many strong works that selecting these pieces was a real challenge. I approached each work on its own merits and found myself drawn to moments of humor, calm, color, and gentle disorientation—qualities I am especially seeking right now.
I was delighted by the whimsy of Daria Lupan, Ellie Goodliffe,, Michelle Maroon, and Chelsea Bonham, and absorbed by the layered textures of April Pierce and Evie McKenna Smalls. I was also drawn to the nuanced line work of Rachel Warner, Julia Wood, and Caitlin Gill, whose material variations complicate their renderings of the female form.
Many thanks to all of the artists who submitted work, and congratulations to those selected. I hope these works center the audience as they have centered me.
