Mari Art Collective invites women artists worldwide to submit work for our upcoming online exhibition, Women Who Collage – Winter 2026–2027.

This exhibition celebrates collage as an expansive contemporary practice.

Exhibition Theme

We welcome collage in all its forms, including analog and digital collage, photomontage, assemblage, textiles, artist books, mixed-media work, and experimental approaches that combine found, printed, painted, or handmade materials. Show us how you work and expand the process of collage!

Artists may submit work exploring any subject or theme. We are interested in the many ways artists bring separate materials, images, histories, and ideas together to create something new.

Curatorial Statement

Collage begins with what already exists. Collage is embedded in the design and process of artistic expression, across mediums. Collage can be intimate, playful, political, surreal, painterly, abstract, or part of a design system that extends into other art forms. Collage expands with each application, inviting us into new forms. It’s also an accessible medium that invites a wide range of artists, which makes it particularly an exciting medium.

Women Who Collage highlights the breadth of contemporary collage and the women artists who continue to expand collage. Together, the selected works will reflect collage not as a single technique, but as a way of thinking.

Juror

Juried by Lindsey Frances Jones, multidisciplinary artist and founder of Mari Art Collective.

Lindsey Frances Jones is a multidisciplinary artist working across painting, printmaking, sculpture, illustration, and social practice. Her work explores visual language, material experimentation, and art as a tool for personal and collective inquiry. She is the founder of Mari Art Collective, an online platform dedicated to elevating women artists working on and with paper.

Online Exhibition Dates: December 2026-March 2027

Eligibility:
This online open call is open to women artists worldwide at any stage of their careers. We welcome submissions from emerging, mid-career, and established artists.

All submitted work must incorporate collage as a central element of its process or final form. Both two-dimensional and three-dimensional work are eligible.

Sales:
Mari Art Collective will not facilitate sales for this exhibition.

Artists may include website and contact information in their profiles, and any sales inquiries will be managed directly between interested collectors and artists.

Archive:
After the exhibition period concludes, the exhibition will remain online as a permanent archive.

Entry Fee:
$15 per artist (non-refundable)

Submission Guidelines

• Submit up to 3 works for consideration

• Works must incorporate collage as a primary process or medium

• Provide high-quality images and artwork details (title, size, medium, year)

• Include a short artist bio or statement
