OPEN CALL: Women Painting on Paper - Summer 2026
Summer 2026
Mari Art Collective invites women artists worldwide to submit to our upcoming online exhibition Women Painting on Paper – Summer 2026. This exhibition highlights the breadth and vitality of women artists whose practices center painting on paper as both material and conceptual ground.
Exhibition Theme
We welcome all painted works that incorporate paper as a central element. From watercolor, gouache, ink, and acrylic to experimental and mixed-media approaches, this exhibition will showcase the expansive possibilities of painting on paper and the diverse voices of women artists working today.
Curatorial Statement
Painting on paper holds a unique immediacy. It allows for experimentation, risk, and intimacy, often capturing ideas in their most direct and honest form. Women Painting on Paper centers paper not as a secondary support, but as an active collaborator in the work itself.
This exhibition seeks to honor the range of approaches women artists bring to painting on paper — from quiet, contemplative gestures to bold, layered explorations. Together, these works form a collective conversation about process, material, and the visual language women continue to expand and redefine.
Juror
Juried by Lindsey Frances Jones, multidisciplinary artist and founder of Mari Art Collective.
